Bill Andrews, California Environmental Education Foundation

Bill Andrews is passionate about cultivating environmental literacy and stewardship. He worked as a science and environmental education consultant for 19 years in the California Department of Education and taught high school for 11 years. While at CDE he founded both the California Regional Environmental Education Community (CREEC) Network in 1997 and the California Environmental Education Foundation (CEEF) in 2003. Upon retiring from CDE in 2005, he was hired as national director of Project WILD and also volunteered as part-time executive director of CEEF for ten years. At the state level, Bill provided leadership and writing of California’s Blueprint for Environmental Literacy, served on the CDE Environmental Literacy Steering Committee, and is currently a member of the Ten Strands Advisory Committee. He is director of the Water, Energy, and Education Alliance and consults on CEEF’s teacher institute Best Practices of Environmental Education and Stewardship.
