Stacey Yankee, California State Parks

Stacey Yankee is chief of the Interpretation and Education Division for California State Parks. She was previously director of the Robinson Nature Center, a LEED Platinum nature center that is part of Howard County Recreation and Parks in Maryland. As a naturalist with Oakland County Parks at the Wint Nature Center in Michigan, she co-created a mobile learning center for the Huron Clinton Metro-Parks, and was a naturalist at Seven Ponds Nature Center, where she earned her captain’s license to lead boat tours through the lakes. As the director for Stage Nature Center for the City of Troy, she revolutionized the way the center was managed by increasing revenue generation, creating funding sources through partnerships, and starting a 501(c)3 organization with the volunteers. Stacey’s skills with management, problem solving, and mentorship have won her many leadership awards over the years.
