California Department of Education

George is an education program consultant in the Office of Learning Environments within the California Department of Education (CDE), where he serves as the program lead for the Green Ribbon Schools Recognition Award. Prior to working for CDE, he was a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) instructional coach in Santa Clara, where he supported administrators, teachers, and students by bringing highly engaging, cross-curricular learning experiences into schools. He is particularly proud of the district’s farm and nature center field trips that all students from the district’s 26 schools participate in, which empower them to engage in sustainable efforts at their schools. In this role, George also provided guidance and support to the district’s farm-to-fork career technical education pathway.
