Jeff Rivero

Jeff Rivero has worked for the Merced Union High School District for the past 25 years as a history teacher and sustainability advisor. He is fully committed to inspiring students, teachers, and community members to take action to curb the devastating effects of climate change as a United Nations ambassador for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. His YouTube Channel, The 17 And Me Show, helps to amplify efforts around the world on environmental care. Jeff works with colleagues worldwide to encourage students to develop a passion that pushes for legislation with elected officials for social and environmental justice issues. In 2016, he received the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Education for his after-school projects, curriculum development on natural resources and global conflict, and student civic engagement activities.
