National Oceanographic & Atmospheric Administration

Seaberry Nachbar has worked for NOAA for more than 20 years and is currently with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of National Marine Sanctuaries in Monterey, where she serves as an education coordinator. She developed and directs the NOAA Bay Watershed Education and Training Program (B-WET), providing students and teachers the opportunity to connect with their environment through hands-on, inquiry-based activities aligned with state standards. Seaberry also developed and directs the NOAA Ocean Guardian School Program, working with students to encourage changes in environmental practices in schools and communities. Seaberry serves on a number of committees and boards within and outside of the Federal government, including a current Carmel Unified School Governing Board member. She spends her time in and around nature and the water as much as possible, surfing and kayaking, hiking in Carmel Valley, tending to her garden and the chickens and bees at her home, and traveling with her family.
