Juanita Chan-Roden

Juanita Chan-Roden has been serving the community of Rialto, California for 13 years. She has taught at the elementary level and science at the secondary level. Chan is currently the Science Lead at the Rialto Unified School District. She is passionate about inspiring a love and excitement for science and is building a collaborative group of innovative K–12 science teachers. Her enthusiasm has inspired a steadfast troupe of over 50 teachers dedicated to advancing science, illustrating for their peers that science and the environment can provide the real-world context that gives flavor to all other subjects. As the Project Director of Rialto’s California Mathematics and Science Partnership grant, she has worked vigorously to infuse environmental education into all levels of K–12 curriculum, advocating that all students get the chance to love their community bionetwork.
