Seaberry Nachbar, NOAA
Seaberry Nachbar has worked for NOAA for 19 years, and is currently with the NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries in Monterey, where she serves as education coordinator. She developed and directs the NOAA Bay Watershed Education and Training Program, providing students and teachers the opportunity to connect with their environment through hands-on, inquiry-based activities aligned with state standards. Seaberry also developed and directs the NOAA Ocean Guardian School Program, working with students to encourage changes in environmental practices in schools and communities. Seaberry serves on a number of committees and boards, and is a member of the local Surfrider Foundation. She spends her time in and around nature and the water as much as possible, surfing and kayaking, hiking in Carmel Valley, tending to her garden and the chickens and bees at her home, and traveling with her children.
